Domain & Hosting related Info

Hi,

 

I have selected some sales & support personnel for maintaining my website, for which I need to present a training showcasing them all the features of domain-related & service-related processes.

Due to this, I require some dummy domain names for registration (although I do not mean to register the domain names permanently & also do not want any sort of involvement of actual money) & also some dummy hosting spaces for registration (for which also I do not want to actual money related matters).

 

The resources which I have are:-

1. Demo WHMCS Area

2. Development License Key used by one of our Development Site.

 

But I am not sure whether to try any dummy / demo registration of domains & hosting products or not, because of the money factor? I just want to know whether any money will be required for these dummy / demo registrations?

 

Please anybody provide me a suitable know-how about the domain & hosting products registrations.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If your payment gateway has a test mode, you can enable it in Setup > Payment Gateways. This means no money should actually change hands. Likewise for domain registrars, you can be able it in Setup > Domain Registrars.

 

In both cases you may need to register on the test server at your payment gateway/domain registrar before test mode will work.

If possible, please put some more light into this issue.

Also I am working on the test server, so the answer to the second question is true.

 

But frankly speaking, I did not quite get your point regarding the Payment Gateway enabling part, although I do know that both Google Checkout & PayPal supports sandbox / test mode and may be some other payment gateways also. But how to activate the payment gateway test mode is totally unknown to me.

 

Also what if I choose "Cash or Cheque Transfer" as the payment mode?

 

Please really throw some light with details.

Add a new TLD ".test" - set it to enom

 

The only "true" test will be to put it through with a real payment eventually - we maintian a spearate paypal account for that which has a minimal "testing" balance - but from the admin side you can always untick "generate invoice"
