Server Series Grouped Together?

Recommended Posts

I use a series type system for naming servers.

Example..

Sunspot

Sunbeam

Sunshine

What I would like is something like this

Sun Series

Sunspot

Sunbeam

Sunshine

Jewel Series

Emerald

Diamond

Jasper

etc...

I am wanting to start another series and am wondering if there is a way to make it in admin area since they all use cpanel to seperate them. Most are dedicated servers or vps so cannot just make groups as it will want to share. Or can I. If I dont add any sharing by moving them to the right in that panel.?

When the list gets a little long it tends to make it all seem HUGE

Also since they are mostly dedicated or vps is there some way to add a customer name on the server setup page?

now you have

Server Name IP Address Active Accounts % Usage

Would be nice if it was

Server Name Client Name IP Address Active Accounts % Usage

Thanks Sparky

The only problem with this is that some are dedicated servers and can not be propositioned for customer accounts. There are only two choices in the groups setting.

1. Add to the least full server

2. Fill active server until full then switch to next least used

Also when it is set up it doesnt really give you the info that you get on the list.

What I would like to know is there a way to set up something like this.

Cpanel Sun Series

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sunbeam * 199.187.120.162 Shared Hosting 26/50 51%

Sunburst 199.187.120.106 Customer Name 1/1 100%

Sundown 199.187.126.58 Customer Name 1/1 100%

Sunset 38.98.243.34 Shared Hosting 5/20 25%

Sunshine 38.98.243.234 Customer Name 1/1 100%

Sunspot 199.187.120.242 Customer Name 1/1 100%

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cpanel Gem Series

Emerald* 199.187.120.162 Shared Hosting 26/50 51%

Diamond 199.187.120.106 Customer Name 1/1 100%

Jasper 199.187.126.58 Customer Name 1/1 100%

Pearl 38.98.243.34 Shared Hosting 5/20 25%

Sorry John I forgot all about this. And actually I sent it in my ticket request since I saw you were the one answering that ticket. but will also paste it here in case someone may know how to do it.

Right now we have

Server Name Ip Address Active Accounts % usage

Sun xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 30/100 30%

Sunbeam xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 10/100 10%

Sunspot xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1/1 100%

Sundown xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1/1 100%

Gems xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 10/100 10%

Jasper xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 100/100 100%

What would be nice is to have

Server Series Client Name IP address Active Accounts % Usage

Sun Series

Sun John Doe xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 30/100 30%

Sunbeam Jane Smith xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 10/100 10%

Sunspot Carl Black xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1/1 100%

Sundown Jim Hanson xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1/1 100%

Gems Series

Gems Johnny Dolittle xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 10/100 10%

Jasper Janice Joplin xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 100/100 100%

I am sure you can catch what I want to be able to do and am just wondering if the script already has a provision for doing this that I may be missing. If it was just a tpl file it would be easy enough to fix.
