VinceC
I'm trying to set up my registrar and can't seem to find one that doesn't ask for a deposit or money up front. I'm new to hosting and I'm guessing I need to have a registrar for my clients to check domain names and to register with my hosting service. When I go to the client area and choose a package, I can't get past the "Shopping Cart" I don't know if I can set up a TLD in WHMCS without a registrar, can I? Any help would be greatly appreciated
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 1, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 1, 2009 A registrar isn't required to to add TLD pricing. You can leave the Auto-Registration dropdown at None. With our ResellerClub account you can just top-up when you receive a domain order. The order will sit in your Resellerclub account, you add the funds and pay the invoice, then it will be registered. But that is an expensive way to do it as you will have to pay transaction fees for each domain you register.
othellotech
Rather than use "none" select "email" and you'll get an email weith the details to go and manually register the domain. Based on the free enom a/c provided by WHMCS only requiring a $100 inital funding, if you cant do that I'd suggest reconsidering the choice to be a host
