davet
I have WHMCS setup with my enom account to offer secure certificates at https://interactiveonline.com/support/cart.php?gid=11 which works fine for new certificate purchases. But how do renewals work? A customer paid their invoice for the RapidSSL renewal but no new certificate was issued nor was the configuration email (like when a new certificate is purchased) was sent to them. The customer thought that paying for the invoice was going to renew the certificate. No further info was sent to them in regards to submitting a new CSR or how to obtain the renewed certificate. Any ideas?
davet
I also noticed that after the customer paid for the SSL certificate renewal invoice it did not create a certificate purchase within my enom account. When a new order is placed for a certificate via WHMCS it shows under my enom account under SSL CERTIFICATE > MANAGE. Next to it is says "Waiting for Configuration" until the customer visits the WHMCS link that is sent to configure it. Isn't this supposed to be done on renewals too? I am using WHMCS version 4.0.2
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 6, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 6, 2009 SSL certs are one-time products. The Enom API doesn't have any way to submit renewals for them so you need to advise the client to order a new one and run through the configuration process again.
davet
Thanks but how do my customers know this? They get an invoice from WHMCS about the renewal of their secure certificate.... they pay for it and nothing happens? I'm not even alerted that a new certificate was just paid for and nothing gets purchased via enom. If they are one-time products then why does a renewal invoice get sent to the customer? How do I keep track of the customer that needs a new certificate purchased after they pay for their renewal invoice?
davet
I figured it out. I had the Secure Certificate products set to recurring. Documentation at http://wiki.whmcs.com/Enom_SSL_Certificates says the following: 2. Set the billing cycle to One Time and price as the base price for this certificate
Patty
How do I keep track of the customer that needs a new certificate purchased after they pay for their renewal invoice? I'd like to know that too. I've got the part that SSL certificates should be set to one time. But how do we know when it's about to expire so we can send the client an email with a link to a new order?
SilverNodashi
eNom, AFAIK, sends you (the reseller) a notice that the SSL will expire, about a month before it expires. So we have an email template setup telling the client that his SSL will expire in 1 month, and they need to order a new one, and then add a link to the order page for them. So, when we get the update notification, we send out the email as well. It's not automated, but it works.
Patty
Thank you for your reply, SoftDux. This is a good way to do it. But we have to rely on eNom only, there's no way WHMCS will let us know either by email alert or listing on the admin's main page? It would be nice if we could have a list of expiring services 30 days ahead on the main page. Is it possible to customize something like that?
