mike25
I have two main issues with the way that my domain renewals are being processed via enom. 1. If a domain renewal is submitted late, even a few hours the domain renewal is not automatically applied. this is very annoying as I get tickets all the time and on occasion a large client will not notice this until months past forcing me to fix the error and pay $165 to get the domain out of redemption. Maybe I have something setup wrong but I dont think so. All domains that are renewed while they are still active seem to go through just fine. 2. Free domains. If a client sets up a free domain a year ago, the domain stays marked as free and renews as free, sometimes even if the hosting account that created the free domain is not renewed. Some logic should exist to prevent this and also it would be nice if we could set the free domain to be offered on setup only, with renewals going at the normal rate. any help or suggestions would be great. Overall I have been very happy with WHMCS.
othellotech
for .1. this is a "feature" of the enom api - the code to renew an expired domain is different to renewing an active one however WHMCS does create a "todo" item for you telling you that the renewal failed and you need to do it manually - a good idea is to look at the todo list

It seems to renew expired .com domains, but not .uk domains.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted September 17, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted September 17, 2009 A free domain renewal would only be invoiced on the same invoice as the related hosting package. If the hosting package invoice wasn't paid, then the domain renewal wouldn't be processed either.

Mostly everything logged there is a non-issue for us. It would be nice to be able to set the logging level in the list. I understand the code is different to renew an expired domain, but it seems it would be easy to implement this extra bit of code when a renewal error for an expired domain is encountered. If A fails then run B so long as the domain is C not in redemption.
