maknet
Is there a way to set it so that i can just invoice clients on the 1st of the month, instead of "today + ONE MONTH"? If there isn't an easy way, is there a good work-around? Most of our manual systems were originally done 1st of the month, so it's a little weird. Thanks, Lawrence
scurrell
The options are under Pricing for each product.

maknet
In my ideal case, i charge for a full month-now, and then charge on the 1st of the month. Although, typically, if today is Jun 15, we will bill Jul 1 to Jul 31 and give the rest of June free. I just wanted to try to clarify some points. Didn't find much in the documentation. Assume a $10 / m plan on Jun 15. 1) Prorata Billing - Tick box If this is enabled, then it will take DAYS REMAINING / DAYS IN MONTH and will charge $5 on the invoice? If this is disabled, then it will charge $10? And make the billing dates like Jun 15 - Jul 15? 2) Prorata Date - Enter the day of the month you want to charge on Not entirely sure what day this means? 3) Charge Next Month - Enter the day of the month after which point the following month will also be charged for with the first payment If i put a "1" here, it means it charges on the first of the month, going forward? Any help is greatly appreciated. Lawrence
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 27, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 27, 2009 1. If enabled all clients will be charged on this exact day each month. When disabled the product will use the default anniversary billing system (eg. Jun 15 - Jul 15). 2. If you set this to 1, then all clients would be charged on the 1st of each month. 3. After this day of the month has been reached, a client will also be charged for the next month in their initial payment. If you had prorata date set to 1, and a client signed up on the 30th of the month, they'd only be charged a tiny amount without this setting. So it is pro-rated amount + next month in advance.
maknet
Hm, still a little confused. (Assume $10 / month on Jun 15) 1) Tick-box ENABLED: JUN 15 person is charged $10. Jul 15 person is charged $10 etc? So this ignored field #2? DISABLED: JUN 15 person is charged $5 and then charged on the field in #2? 2) Pro-rata date SET TO 1: Means it will bill on the 1st of the month. So when Jul 1 hit, it will make an invoice for Jul 1 to Aug 1? How does this conflict with field #1? 3) Charge next month SET TO 15: Means, that if Jun 16 is the date you went to pay, then it will ALSO bill Jul 1 to Aug 1? SET to 17: Means on Jun 16, it will only charge Jun 16 to Jul 16 (or Jun 16 to Jul 1 if pro-rated it set)? Is this correct? Division
Wow, this is confusing... I thought I got this setup correctly for our company. We just put 1 and 1 in both boxes. So in your case it will charge from Jun 15 - Jun 30 = PRO RATED AMOUNT and then Jul 1 - 31st July = NORMAL MONTH BILLING I think that's correct?

Although it's interesting learning about all the features etc, i just want: 1) Possibly pro-rate for the remainder of the month (or maybe just charge $0) 2) Start billing on the 1st of the months That's all. Impact-John
what you do and how we have it is 1. you set the prorata date for the 1st than all customer will be billed on the first of every month 2. than you set the bill following month date to what ever date you want we i believe have it set at the 25th so if anyone orders on june 25th or later they will be billed prorata from June 25th till July 1st as well as July 1st to July 31st. i Hope that clarifies it a bit more for you if not ask again and will see what else i can help with.
maknet
So then, if the TICK is checked off, what happens in the above case between Jun 25 and Jul 1? Lastly, if you issue an invoice before Jun 25, what happens? A bill date of like Jun 11 to Jun 30?

maknet
That's OK. I'm still confused and trying to get some answers. All i want is to bill on the 1st of the month and the option to pro-rate or give the remaining month free! Lawrence
Division
My answer is to put 1st and then 1st again... give that a try and you will be charging one monthi n advance.
