Speedy059
It appears that our mass emailing feature in WHMCS is not working for us. The sendmessage.php page is either a blank page or we are left with only this text: Message Saved Successfully Mass Mail Queue XXXX Emails to Send in Total - Step 1 of 15 - Estimated Time Until Completion: 420 Seconds. Please wait... 420 seconds is 7 minutes, after 15-30 minutes and not a single Step or email is sent. What could be causing this? We are running CentOS 5.2 64Bit.

awardle
I have the same issue as well running the latest release of whmcs on a windows 2003 server, has anyone managed to get it working?
davet
I have a similar issue with the Mass Mailing. I was trying to send to 400 customers. It sends to the first 24 and brings me to a page that says I have to wait 540 seconds. I let the browser just sit there and a few seconds later it takes me to this page https://interactiveonline.com/support/admin/sendmessage.php?action=send&massmailquery=SELECT+tblhosting.id%2Ctblhosting.userid%2Ctblhosting.domain%2Ctblclients.firstname%2Ctblclients.lastname%2Ctblclients.email+FROM+tblhosting+INNER+JOIN+tblclients+ON+tblclients.id%3Dtblhosting.userid+INNER+JOIN+tblproducts+ON+tblproducts.id%3Dtblhosting.packageid+WHERE+tblhosting.id!%3D%27%27+AND+tblproducts.id%3D%2777%27+AND+tblhosting.domainstatus%3D%27Active%27&step=1 which returns the following error: Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource /support/admin/sendmessage.php could not be found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I checked and I do have the sendmessage.php file at /home/public_html/ioc/support/admin/sendmessage.php I am running the latest version of WHMCS on Centos 5.2 (32bit) I have SEF URLs turned on for the knowledgebase which I thought might be causing the problem. Any ideas?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 3, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 3, 2009 It could possibly be related to mod_security on your server.
davet
yes but how do we fix it?
Speedy059
Anyone found a solution for this? We need to send out a mass email to our clients and we can't get pass the 1st stage. I'm running CentOS 5.3 64Bit with the latest release of WHMCS.
Speedy059
I just tried to do the mass emailing in IE instead of Firefox and it worked...Not sure how this could be but it is.
Rae
I was having the same problem using Firefox. I just tried sending through IE and it worked. I wonder why Firefox doesn't work. But I did get alot of these messages during the process: Email Sending Failed - Could not instantiate mail function. Plus I got a copy of each email in my mailbox. Is that normal? Best wishes, Rae
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 7, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 7, 2009 The error message seems to be related to your host's sendmail settings. If you're getting loads of copies of your mass emails that means you either CC'ed yourself into the email, or you've set WHMCS to CC all emails to you.
Rae
Thanks, John. That sounds right. Do we have any explanation as to why it works in IE and not Firefox?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 7, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 7, 2009 Haven't had any problems in Firefox myself. Do you have any addons? That's usually the case of Firefox-related issues.
Rae
I do have a couple Firefox add-ons. But what add-ons would cause a problem with this process not completing, esp. since it is using server-side scripts? Since so many people are having trouble with this, it would be great to find out the cause.
suhailc
Hi, I've had the same problem with mass mailing, specifically after the first batch is sent, the second batch attempt always breaks basic SQL Injection mod_security rules. Matt - I think WHMCS should overcome this as currently the only way for it to work is to switch off mod_security temporarily which obviously isn't ideal.
thehost5968
Could I suggest that one of you try and install phplist on your server and see if you get the same problem with that to see if it is the server setting or WHMCS as 3 users out 100's seems to me it a server setting?

Rae
Upgrade to 4.1 Matt Hello Matt, This is still a problem with Firefox even after the upgrade to 4.1. It works in the latest version of IE. Best wishes, Rae
suhailc
Hi, FYI it was fixed for me with 4.1. and running latest FireFox browser not that the browser matters.
Rae
I'm running the latest versions of Firefox and it didn't work for me. I suspect that it might be a Firefox add-on that is causing the issue but I can't figure out which one.
dryline
I just had this issue as well. I found this thread, and had been using FF so I switched over to IE and gave it another shot. This time I got to the step 1 of 5, please wait 120 seconds and nothing has happened since and email log shows nothing went out. I am on v. 4.1.2
