Do anybody perhaps know how to complete remove the newsletter addon?

I installed it full of hope but realized it can barely be called a "newsletter" and want to remove it. (Already deleted the addon files but the install also make other changes so...)

Is it possible to set this to opt-out?

- So it's automatically checked when the customer signs up?

- So it's automatically checked for customers who are already set as active?

Will pay.

I want all my customers to get our newsletters by default and opt-out by visiting the client area and unticking the tick box.

Thanks.

I second that! Willing to split the cost with the person above!

Just wanted to add my thoughts after using for a couple of weeks.

To get a better user experience with this, I have added an email template with some customisations that include automatci links to various sections of the site. Shortly, we'll also be adding some php code to automatic pull data from our site, such as latest announcements, latest forum/blog posts, recent network issues etc.

To do this is a 4 step process.

1. enable a html template editor in your text editor

2. install html templates into your site

3. add one of those html templates in your newsletter email template, and

4. customise it with smarty variables to auto popuplate your data

There's a thread WHMCS thread on 'editor' that will help with the first 2.

Below is a screen shot of the result

Very nice newsletter!

Are you willing to provide a copy of the document that we can edit for our own uses?

For some reason, the cron runs, says it sent to a specific user ID, but that user does not receive the email, nor is it listed in the admin in that users last 5 emails that it was sent either. Also, how do you make it so that the cron job email report is only sent to admin and not all support operators? I have a newletter admin setup, but for some reason every admin gets this report.

I tested the module only for short period before removed it so the following suggestion could be wrong.

My suggestion is to "LINK" the module to a special knowledgebase category where you can use the knowledgebase category for newsletter management and the module for opt-in and out, sending of the newsletters etc.

You can obviously build something to add and expand the newsletter part but over and above the fact that it's easier it also have the benefit that past newsletters are "knowledgebase" articles and therefore accessible to search engines.

The knowledgebase already have almost anything one needs for NEWSLETTERS where you can even create different newsletter categories under the main category and the whole focus of the module can therefore be to manage the rest. (And from that perspective there is a lot that can be done, much faster and easier)

Confusing :P

It could do with a opt out link at the bottom of all newsletters thats the main one
