dsaunier
Hi Not sure if it happens to some of you, but once in a while we get a desperate message from a faithful long-time client whose domain was suspended because reminders were lost (email reliability these days..), and we have to renew the domain before we receive payment. At that point our WHMCS still shows the domain as expired but it has indeed been renewed. My problem is that once we get the payment, I must set the pending invoice as paid, but right now if I do the system renews the domain again with the API, hence the name is renewed twice, an issue for us. Do you have such cases, and how do you handle those situations where domain is renewed before payment ? Best regards.
othellotech
change the registry to "email" after manual renewals ... and back to the correct registry on actual payment
dsaunier
Ok it makes sense, thanks. Apparently the newer WHMCS version has an option to suspend autorenew, mine doesn't. In the meantime I entered a wrong password for the registrar API, which caused the renewal to fail, and put it back once invoices were marked as paid.
obandy
What about the other way around - a new admin marked domains to auto-renew a while ago, and while payment is late, domain is renewed automatically, and then after payment is made it is renewed again - but customer paid only for 1 year. How can you avoid this for specific domains?

How can you avoid this for specific domains? I assume that is with the registrar, as WHMCS only has the option "Do Not Renew". In that case, enable "Do Not Renew" once for those specific domains.

How can you avoid this for specific domains? set the registrar to email - see my earlier post better yet, tarin your admins *not* to set autorenew, and log in daily to your enom account and turn off any that are on autorenew
