merlinpa1969
kinda looks like live screen shots of the WAP application for whmcs, kinda kool to see what it actually looks like
bagpiper
This is the WHMCS Mobile Edition altered for use on the iphone The reason I am posting this is to show my layout for the iPhone using the WHMCS Mobile Edition I haven't seen any other images showing the WHMCS Mobile Edition being used on the iPhone
Si
I use whmcs standard edition on my iPhone (with all of the bells and whistles). I just don't understand the logic and reasoning why people are using the mobile edition and working to modify it when the iPhone handles the full edition perfectly. Baffled.
bagpiper
Simply, it reduces the amount zooming in to read everything on the screen. But then again, why would anyone want to have a legible web page without having to pinch and zoom every time. Baffled.
Si
Simply, it reduces the amount zooming in to read everything on the screen. But then again, why would anyone want to have a legible web page without having to pinch and zoom every time. Baffled. lol - for the same reasons you DON'T use WHMCS MOBILE when you are on your PC. It's limited in what you can do and see. I can reply to clients support tickets, insert knowledgebase articles, predefined replies, see their accounts, records of emails sent, their credit status, etc etc on my iphone, - if I used the mobile version, none of that would be possible. The only possible reason would be if you are in a poor network coverage area and/or the server your WHMCS is installed on is poor. For me, iphone (and Safari browser) totally removed the need to use wHMCS mobile as I used to use it on my old Windows and Symbian mobile phones. It just seems like its a WAP feature on a phone that has made the leap to PC browser capability (albeit for the need to pinch and zoom).
bagpiper
As good as safari is, it has a tendency to crash. Having something that's fast and easy to load when I am on out is helpful. My experience with the iPhone over the last year has been good, but when you move the screen too much and / or tilt the phone the web browser will close out unexpectantly. While this doesn't happen all the time it seems it does happen at the worst times. I also use Kayako for my support tickets and not using the WAP version is being frustrating due to the crashing.

Never had this problem at all and the only time I've crashed safari was when I did so deliberately when attempting to see how many DB items/columns I could get loaded into one page before it gave up the ghost. 500 rows with 4 columns of data each is the answer for anyone interested. Can I ask, if you are using the latest firmware on your iphone? ie, do you keep up to date through itunes syncing etc?
bagpiper
I have always kept up to date with every firmware upgrade even to the point where it caused more problems then it fixed and Apple swapped out my phone 3x's already. I would have replied to this post yesterday but after using the iphone to type a long paragraph a incoming phone call wiped everything out. Now thats a problem with vbulletin, but if VB had decent mobile version, this might have been avoided. Bottom line I use the iPhone for everything, it's the best device I have over owned. I will not rely on it for lots of typing critical browser use. It could be made a bit more tolerable when/if copy and paste is released and using mobile versions of web sites. Just my 2 Cents ...
clothingsavers
I really like this. where can i get this mobile version and does it have all of the new features?
dkent
If I had an iPhone, i'd quit using the mobile edition as it wouldn't be needed. I love how the web version looks on the iPhone in the screenshots you provided. Makes my mouth water!

I'm not a HTC fan. Maybe I was one of the unlucky ones. I was with the 3 network in the UK for 3 years with no issues, chose their HTC PDA middle of last year and had a horrendous time. Dropped calls, lost data connections, no coverage (where I knew there was coverage), other 3 phones showed great coverage, tests on the phone proved no issue. I ended up scrapping the phone (it's sitting on my desk not being used) 5 months into an 18 month contract, while I went out and bought an iphone on o2. (The company I left to go to 3 all those years before). Best phone ever. Anyone want a second hand HTC? Si
ChrisGooding
Thanks for the heads up...... Though i suppose it is a newer model, so hopefully any issues were fixed. Plus there will no doubt be just as many bad stories for iphone, guess I'll just have to find out 1 question.............. why 3 ???????
Si
1 question.............. why 3 ??????? I travel to the Republic of Ireland a lot and they don't charge roaming fees or extra 'bolt-ons' for international extras. Unlike others. Horses for courses.
ChrisGooding
Fair copp then I guess TY for heads up anyway, you've got me wondering again now, lol
Si
No probs. Thing I love about the iphone is that there are so many apps (some free and some paid) that are constantly being developed and updated and what I did notice with that HTC phone was a distinct lack of memory. My iphone is 16GB and I carry video, photos, files, podcasts and all sorts of useful apps, diaries, todo lists, a London underground Tube updater and route planner, GPRS map applications etc which have all recently been invaluable tools - all on my phone. Then I was also able to stay on top of my business with the full page (not the mobile version) safari browser. Brilliant I say....just brilliant. You can always get better I know....but I'll be waiting for Apple to better what they've already done, when my contract comes up for renewal again. My pennys worth. Si
Hi guys, Just thought I'd update you all on a fantastic little app I stumbled across for my iphone which you WHMCS/iphone users might also find invaluable. Do a search for '1password' and download it. It's free. Think Roboform, for your iphone, and you get the picture. However, over and above the handiness of having all of your logins behind one icon for some weird reason, all of the Ajax functions in the full version of WHMCS work in the one safari window. ie. When I'm replying to a support ticket and I want to insert a predefined reply or a knowledebase article, previously, a new window/tab would open with the list of articles for me to select from. However, with this app, the page expands (as it does in FF/IE etc on your desktop). Really neat and smooth. Free, handy, full WHMCS, fits in your pocket, sheesh.....iphone. I love you!
