jon-e2
So does anyone know if there is a way to have the domain reminder to renew your domain not to send out to domains that are set to auto renew? Feel free to chat with me on aim eleven2jon Thanks.
chickendippers
All domains auto renew unless you explicitly disable it. I like to know when my domains are due for renewal so I can make sure it goes smoothly anyway, although I can see your POV.
othellotech
Not currently possible, and if you mean "auto-renew" as set at the *registrar* you want to turn that off ...
jon-e2
let me explain a little better: Bob a client has a domain already set to auto renew in his client area. Our WHMCS install is set to send out emails when a domain is reaching close to the renewal date. I would like the email not to be sent to bob who already has his domain set to auto renew so would not need the reminder.
bear
All domains auto renew unless you explicitly disable it. Hmm, in my install, domains registered are set to not auto renew by default. Have I missed a setting all this time?
othellotech
has a domain already set to auto renew in his client area "auto-renew" is a misnomerm as it doenst have anything to do with the renewal as such ... think of the flag as giving the client the option to "allow the domain to expire, rather than bug me about renewing it" so your options with the flag are domain renewal invoice is supressed and it just dies at expiry date, unless the client has specifiaccly gone into the client area and clicked renew, which generates and invoice or the normal reminders and invoice go out, and on payment of the invoice the domain gets renewed reminding people about the impending renewal required and invoice IMHO is the right thing to be doing, and definately should not be stopping any emails ...
jon-e2
I understand how it currently works. But if the client has the domain set to auto renew they don't need an email telling them that its about to expire because to their knowledge its set to automatically renew to where they will not have to worry about it. I'm just wondering if there is a way to disable the email for domains that are set to auto renew

Auto-renew implies it will automatically renew it, not let it lapse. Unless I'm misunderstanding your statement?
othellotech
Doesn't sound right to me. Auto-renew implies it will automatically renew it, not let it lapse. Unless I'm misunderstanding your statement? with the flag on, it it will NOT invoice for the renewal with the flag off, it will invoice for the renewal so firstly the flag is to enable "do not renew" secondly it doesnt auto-renew either way its simply a way to suppress the invoice creation
sparky
Configuration => General Settings Domains tab Default Auto Renewal Setting - This can be changed per domain, but sets the default of whether invoices should auto generate for expiring domainsThis is the switch to either create the invoice or not (if ticked is the default setting for all new domain entries created in whmcs. In the users settings domain tab if auto renew is off that customer won't be invoiced for the renewal)Auto Renew on Payment - Automatically renew domains which are set to a supported registrar when they are paid forTo me this means that the invoice has been created but the renewal will only be sent to the registrar if the invoice is paid.
