bear
Try PhpList by Tincan limited. Free, robust, good script. The only limitation that some don't care for is that you have to log in to send a newsletter; you can't do it via email (last time I checked).

handsonwebhosting
ConstantContact is something that many of our users use.
Its Trish
if you want to host it yourself, try 1-2-All ActiveCampaign which is the best bang-for-the-buck and has features that many advanced mailing people desire ConstantContact is something that many of our users use. I agree with Conor that ConstantContact and those type of hosted solutions are pretty awesome. Most will give you free html templates which allow you to send out professional looking email messages. The only issue is that they charge per email address, therefore unless you have a tiny recipient list, ConstantContact can get expensive. But for small lists it rocks. I know an attorney who uses this type of system and he loves it because he can quickly zip out a text or html email to his clients. He wants to spend virtually zero time and effort worrying about his emailing system, so with his small list (of clients) the hosted solution is perfect for him. trish : - )
