cyberstrider
Bit confused about the Month Cost section within Configuration > Servers > [Edit Server] What is the general consensus on working this figure out? What do you guys and gals do? -DB
chickendippers
We enter the amount our provider invoices us for that server.

Ah.. we run our own network across many different data centres, have our own full size racks and purchase own servers. If only I could have the same situation where there was a fixed monthly cost. Anyone else in a similar situation to us? Rob (Othello), what do you do with the monthly server cost figure? How do you calculate it? -DB
chickendippers
Don't forget that WHMCS isn't a financial program, the server cost gives you a very rough outline of possible costs, but as all sorts of other factors aren't taken into account noone is going to be sending that report to their accountant. I wouldn't worry about it, we don't.
othellotech
Rob (Othello), what do you do with the monthly server cost figure? How do you calculate it? Total cost of providing all the rackspace, bandwidth, equipment and licences for all of the shared hosting systems in our suites divided by the number of servers. Currently that calculates out to £341/month/server

Austdata
Ah.. we run our own network across many different data centres, have our own full size racks and purchase own servers. I would have thought you would have worked out what each unit cost is when calculating your customer pricing. Yes? Use those numbers. Cheers, Mike
