[RESOLVED] Prorata

Recommended Posts

Under 'products & services > edit > pricing' I have the option 'Enter the day of the month after which point the following month will also be charged for with the first payment' set to 21.

My 3.6.1 installation is only charging the prorata amount after this date, not including the following month. In my example (todays date (04/06/2008)) only $4.67 is being charged (Pro Rata 08/06/2008) when it should be $4.67 plus $35 for the following month.

What do you have for the Prorata Date? I have the Prorata Date set to 1 and the Charge Next Month at 21. This way it starts the clock on the first and if you are after the 21st, I get next month plus he rest of the month.

This works as it should and I have 3.6.1.

I have the prorata date set to 8. I am assuming the amount charged (4.67) is correct to this date (it looks about right), the 4th to the 8th, but for some reason (I may have an incorrect setting) next month is not being charged at the time of the order.

I have invoices set to send 7 days before payment so in this situation the customer has and will not be notified of their next payment.

I just had the memory of another bug being reported when products have been duplicated. I duplicated this package if it makes any difference.

EDIT: I just checked the originally entered product and same problem, so you can ignore this post.

I see now. It looks like it might not be wrapping around after the end of the month. I changed one of my products to your settings and duplicated it. I bet if it were after the 21st it would work as you expect but since your Invoice date after the first, it is not doing the calulation correctly.

Are you wanting the due date to be the 8th but generate the invoices on 7 days prior?

'Enter the day of the month after which point the following month will also be charged for with the first payment' set to 21.

In my example (todays date (04/06/2008)) only $4.67 is being charged (Pro Rata 08/06/2008) when it should be $4.67 plus $35 for the following month.

The 4th of the month is *NOT* after the 21st of the month, so it is correct not to charge for the following month

I have the 'Prorata Date' set to the 8th, so I assume WHMCS uses the 8th as the beginning of the month, is that correct?

With 'Charge Next Month' set to the 21st, will WHMCS add the following months charge if an order is placed on the 4th (for example)?

In my example the 4th is after the 21st, as the beginning of my prorata month is the 8th.

So am I correct in saying it is not possible for WHMCS to charge a customer for 1 month and 1 day if they were to order on the 7th? They will be charged (for example) just $0.26 for one days hosting and then billed $8 the next day for the following month? I cannot charge them $8.26 during the order?

I have it set to invoice a customer 7 days before payment, what happens in this case when the customer signs up only a day before another invoice is due?

Ok, thank you Matt. My payment processor doesn't seem to like payments less than a couple of dollars, they all fail if they are small amounts.

If I use prorata on the 1st for now, will updating it in future affect existing accounts?

I'm having a problem since 3.6.2 with this very thing. I've ALWAYS had my prorate set for 1 and the bill next month on the 16th. But starting with 3.6.2, it is ONLY billing until the 1st of next month, no matter what, even on annual billing. It is NOT charging the additional.

Anyone have a solution. I didn't change ANY of my settings except upgrade to 3.6.2.

Thanks!
