Client Status Update older than 2 days rule

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to extend the older than 2 days rule for the WHMCS client status update.

We have some customers who created an account, bought a service, but didn't process the payment right away (e.g. bank transfer) and when they finally sent us the payment receipt, the account was marked as inactive.

So we thought it would be great if the rule could be extended to at least 7 days.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Hi @TSK_Panda,

The difference between Active and Inactive clients is one of labelling; being Inactive doesn't block any functionality.

Can you elaborate a little further on your end goal? What is the Client's Inactive status preventing you from doing?

Hi @WHMCS John,

Nothing fancy—we just want to lighten our staff's load whenever possible and the client's inactive status didn't prevent us from doing anything in particular.

Bank transfers are the preferred payment method for many of our customers, which means we have to record each transaction individually and it would be helpful if we didn't have to disable the "Hide Inactive Clients" filter when searching for accounts.

Since our customers usually notify us about their payments within seven days, we were wondering if it would be possible to make this change.

Hi @RadWebHosting,

How are these orders being added to your system please?

When an order is placed by the client via cart.php, this will be recorded as a login, meaning the Client Account status will remain Active if the  Change client status based on active/inactive products and not logged in for longer than 3 months option is selected in the Automation Settings.

The 2 day rule applies to new Client Accounts created by admins or the API.
