Gateway Module 'paypalcheckout' Not Activated

Recommended Posts

Hello.
Today, after updating to 8.11.1, the following error started appearing:

Failed to initialise payment gateway module: Gateway Module 'paypalcheckout' Not Activated

I only use Paypal Basic, since Paypal Payments is not available in my country.
Has anyone else had this problem or solved it?

Thanks

I think it’s best to “disable” gateway modules by using whmcs admin active gateways interface to disable the gateway, since gateway communication is often received through POST from the gateways, meaning WHMCS will listen for it rather than check for it.

The method of deactivation through the method above will allow gateway modules to provide information or even execute a command to ensure the module is deactivated properly.

Hi @hostingarg,

It's important to keep the legacy PayPal modules active so that payments sent by Subscriptions can still be recorded by those modules: https://help.whmcs.com/m/troubleshooting/l/1782851-migrating-to-paypal-payments

Unfortunately if the "PayPal" module has been deactivated already, there isn't a way to re-link it to the the same "App" on PayPal's end, so Subscirptions payments setup via that module won't be recorded in WHMCS automatically.

PayPal Subscriptions setup through the "PayPal Basic" module can still have their payments recorded, provided that module hasn't been deactivated.
