Lewcy
I seem to be having no end of trouble with finding a registrar to use. I have been using planet domain for many years but the integration into whmcs isnt particualy good (mainly pd fault), there are a lot of bugs which cause a lot of problems and are too big to get around with a complete rehash of the code. So, i signed up for directi on as this was the recommended service through whmcs however they dont register .co.uk domains so are as good as useless for a uk based company. Can anyone recommed a registrar that works seemlessly with whmcs? Is it possible to change the error checking/formatting on the customer sign up form? This would allow a better integration with pd, it tends to fail because of small things like no spaces in the postcode or an incorrectly formatted telephone number.

I recommend you DirectI and they do register .co.uk .org.uk and .me.uk, you have to activate it from the control panel

chickendippers
Do they support .co.uk transfers yet?No, unfortunately no. I plan on sending them emails requesting this, I suggest everyone does the same.

Lewcy
I recommend you DirectI and they do register .co.uk .org.uk and .me.uk, you have to activate it from the control panel Ive looked everywhere for this, im guessing it should be under, settings - products - manage product signup. All the tlds are listed except .x.uk. Putting an order through whmcs to them just returns that a message saying "Domain Registration Error - We no longer sell/renew/transfer these TLDs"
Lewcy
Note, for anyone using planetdomain it looks like the phone number bug will be fixed in version 3.6, This will help so much! Thanks matt! Another issue i came across is the post code, it complains if there isnt a space in it!
mrprez
Directi does support .co.uk but if your reseller doesn't support it then you cant sell them. you either need to get your own account or find a reseller who supports it. Onionman
According to this post: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=3470 They should be supported with the WHMCS Directi accounts? Unless they have been disabled again?
railto
ok, why not sign up with a company that offers enom accounts, they are pretty good, have used them since i was using mb as i got a free account with them, there are plenty of companies out there that offer enom reseller accounts, a little google searching will sort u out there
ur
According to this post: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=3470 They should be supported with the WHMCS Directi accounts? Unless they have been disabled again? Someone correctly noted that DirectI *does* support .uk domains, but they are still working on a transfer system, which has yet to be released. I suggest that anyone wanting this shoot an email to DirectI's CEO at bhavin.t at directi.com, or log a request through their support system.
othellotech
IME the enom integration is far better than the directi one, and you can register .uk's with either - but IPS-TAG transfers have to be done by ticket submission.
magga
I use eNom and on the whole am pretty impressed. I just don't like the prices I'm currently getting for .co.uk domains - $8.95 per year !
othellotech
don't like the prices I'm currently getting for .co.uk domains - $8.95 per year ! You're objecting to paying £4.50/year for a domain (plus all the other paraphanelia enom chuck in) ? How much is your time worth ? £20/hour ? If it takes you 15 minutes to manually register a domain with a-n-other cheapa$$ registrar to save £1.50 surely you've *lost* money there is a certain amount of cynical sarcasm in the above so please dont take offence IMHO with domains as they're somewhat fundamental to hosting, dns, email etc, price should not be the deciding factor - service/support and control are far more important ... Nominet membership is not that expensive and comes with a whole heap of benefits, like having a say in how .UK works ...
uberhost
We like Directi for the most part, except for the $1.00 charge to delete a domain name. Dynadot.com allows free deletion, but they do not have a reseller panel, so we'll continue to pay a buck when we get fooled by a fraudulent order. Thankfully, RapidSSL doesn't charge a penalty to cancel a secure certificate.

I personally do not like directi.
Troy
Enom will allow you to delete them for free on fraudulent orders. I personally do not like directi. Enom will reverse any registration or renewal for any reason, within a certain number of days (don't remember offhand, maybe four?). We have about a customer a week that forgets to ask us to not renew a domain, and we end up refunding them and getting a refund from enom, as long as our customer notifies us within 48 hours.

othellotech
we end up refunding them and getting a refund from enom That'll be stopping later this year as ICANN will still be charging the registrars even on deleted domains (part of the attempts to curb squatting and tasting)
