Development suggestions?

Daoshi

Question

From my understanding their is no development environment for WHMCS aside from a 30 day 'free' trial. Does anyone have any suggestions for developing a website with WHMCS without paying for it months before launching? Thank you.

Hi @Daoshi,

A common approach is to start with the Plus license. This gives you access to all the system's features with the minimum cost.

Then when you're ready to import clients and go live, the system will automatically scale up the license as more clients are added. In this way your license costs are minimised during the pre-release and development stage.

Hey,

If you purchase any of the WHMCS licenses, you can get a second one free for development purposes. Just ensure that the dev installation of WHMCS is not exposed to the public, and whenever your finished you should be able to migrate the WHMCS installation over to your production environment using the paid WHMCS license key.

Yes, WHMCS does provide the development license with paid production license rental.
