How to prevent account creation during checkout?

We require our users to create an account before they are able to begin the order proces. This means that users already have an account/client when they begin ordering. It is not possible to order without first being signed in.

When users get to the final checkout screen, they get the option to create a new account. Many users seem to believe that this simply updates their billing info, which is not the case. This means that the ordered products are created on a new (wrong) client account, and it is quite a headache to merge everything back to the original account.

How can we disable the account creation option during checkout?
