jhamon
Hi, I'm trying to use the WHM Import utility but I keep getting a time out error. Is there a way to increase the time given to connect or some other way around this. Brett
There is no way to increase the time given to connect. All of the source files that control that are encrypted. One thing that I might suggest checking is the hash key for cpanel. You can always submit a ticket and see what support says about it.
jhamon
Hi, I'm not using an access key to access cpanel. I can access the server vias the option in WHMCS without issue. Jonathan Hamon
Brett
Right, but if you did not setup the hash key in WHM then you will NOT be able to auto provision accounts and import them.

jhamon
Hi, The import was working the past few days and the accounts selected were being created Ok but suddenly it has stopped. thanks for the welcome. I've been around for a while but just haven't used it. Jonathan Hamon
Brett
Hmmm.... Not real sure what to tell you because there really isn't an error log to see why it's giving a connection timeout. Just for kicks and giggles try for my sake redoing the hash key. That is the only thing that I can think of. Have you done an upgrade to the system lately that could have caused this?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 27, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 27, 2007 This error would indicate that a firewall on your server is blocking the connection. You need to open port 2086/2087 on both the local and remote servers. Matt
Chad
I tried the import and it said 0 succeeded, 68 failed when I tried one of the servers. I have both 2086/2087 open on TCP In/Out.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 15, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 15, 2008 That's a problem with your package setup - see http://v3manual.whmcs.com/?id=83 Matt
ihostct
Hello, I am also getting a connection timeout error (V3.6). My license key is valid. I have set up my servers in the configuration area and can see them in the NetWork Status area on the admin main page. They also appear in the dropdown list under the import utility. I have created my packages according to the reference manual link shown in the post above (though the screen shot in the manual differs from the app in that area), and verified that all of the WHM package names are exactly the same. Ports 2086 and 2087 are opened on both machines according to my server vendors though I do not know how to manually check this myself to verify so for now I have t take their word on this. When I select the import utility I get the drop down for the servers, I select the server and the page starts refreshing before I ever get to click the "Get Account List" button, and after a few seconds I get the "Socket Connection Failed (Connection timed out - 110)" error. I do think their is something amiss with the import script not only because I can't get it to work, but a friend/colleague of mine bought the script a day or two after I did and he is having the exact same problem. Is there some way to get to the bottom of his issue, or would it be better for me to submit a support request? So far I am loving this program, and I am anxious to finish getting things set up and ready to use. Thank you in advance, Terri
ihostct
OK, never mind, found the commands and the port was open but only one way. Life is good again.
