souzadavi
WHMCS 8.0 now is encrypting the passwords input custom fields on database. This is very bad because before this version, it wasn't.. So If you have password custom fields on products or customers you will be in trouble. WHMCS should automatic crypt this information on database automatic, but they didn't. So to fix it quickly just change the passwords custom fields to TEXT. I Hope the WHMCS team see it and do something before many people get crazy.....
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted November 9, 2020 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted November 9, 2020 Hi @souzadavi, It is by design that the password field is encrypted in 8.0: Quote CORE-9662 - Encrypt Custom Field type Password https://docs.whmcs.com/Changelog:WHMCS_V8.0.0_Beta_1#Maintenance This change encrypts values on save and decrypts them on retrieval from the database if the fieldType is "Password". This is backwards-compatible to ensure data inserted by customisations unencrypted can still be obtained.
