snake
I am in the process of importing all my customers from another billing system, so I am therefore adding them manually via the admin. I have created a custom welcome email to send them, however when it sends, it is just putting ****** instead of the {$client_password}, which is obviously no good. I recall it has always been this way, but Its been quite a few years since I have done this, so I cannot remember what the solution is. 2 questions. 1) If I do not enter a password when creating a new user, does it generate one automatically or does it leave it blank? Since it is not visible anywhere, I cannot tell. 2) how do I get the password to show in the welcome email.
web2008
1) You must enter a password when you create a new user, because this is a required field. 2) The password in the welcome email appears as "********"
snake
Quote 2) The password in the welcome email appears as "********" I know, this is LITERALLY what I have said above.
SistemasyServicios
For security reasons the password field is always masked. You should modify your template by adding the link to reset their password. Once your clients have received the email, delete the link from the template.
web2008
Put another way, you can not get the password in plain text in the Client Signup Email.
