Unexpected payment method value. Exiting.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm having a weird error on a WHMCS (not mine) that is running 7.10.1. When I try to complete an order I receive a blank screen with the following message:

Unexpected payment method value. Exiting.

It doesn't matter what payment method I select, I keep receiving the error with any method use. Activity Log says the following:

Created Invoice - Invoice ID: 21421
New Order Placed - Order ID: 7655 - User ID: 3271

But Invoice #21421 doesn't exist. I can see it from the order but on click I get "Invoice ID Not Found". I think that the problem triggers also when I manually add the order as an administrator from WHMCS Admin. I don't see any error on screen but "Invoice ID Not Found" is there hence I cannot process any new order.

I deactivated all hooks and modules but the problem is still there 🤔

Thanks for reply.

Order ID 7657 Skipped Fraud Check due to Already Active Orders
Updated Stored Credit Card Details - User ID: 3271
Email Sent to Test Katamaze (WHMCS Notifica nuovo ordine)
Created Invoice - Invoice ID: 21423
New Order Placed - Order ID: 7657 - User ID: 3271

I see nothing strange but I have the feeling that the "Updated Stored Credit Card Details" makes no sense. In this specific WHMCS credit cards are not in use. There's just banktransfer.php and a payment gateways that works like PayPal. That said, why does WHMCS perform an update on "stored credit card"?

p.s. Invoice #21423 doesn't exist and returns "Invoice ID Not Found"
