Domain transfer and term of registration

I am asking a client to order a package by transferring the domain to me. Can anyone say if this will automatically add one year to the client's term of registration? They have currently current registered it for 5 years.

In this context, is anyone aware of the transfer policies for third level .in domains (.org.in etc)? I believe that EPP authentication code is required for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .mobi, .cn and .us domain transfers, but I am not sure about third level .in

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You don't mention what extension of domain you refer to. Although .com, .net, .org etc will have one year added to them. You will most likely be charged for the one year by your provider.

Regarding the .in domains. Sorry, haven't a clue. Whoever you purchase them through should be able to provide you with that information. (I would have thought).

Thanks for answering:-)

Yes, the client does get a one-year extension of registration. They make it clear under 'Transfers' on this page:
