pro-rata billing for configurable options

I have some products which use configurable options, where I need to use pro-rata billing if they change those options.

E.G.
G suite, the configurable options is used for number of users.

If the customer adds more users, then these need to be billed pro-rata from today until the regular billing data.
I'm not sure how to do this, I do not see any option for this. If I increase the quantity from the admin, this is not applied until the next billing cycle.

From the admin, instead of directly changing the option in the product details, use the "Upgrade/Downgrade" button (top right just under the tabs) to change the options and you'll be able to generate a invoice for the prorated charge.

I am also not sure how to do this using configurable options...please help
