Using WHMCS purely as a software / SaaS business?

We are looking at moving over from our proprietary billing system to WHMCS, however, there are a few challenged we've hit and we are wondering how other software/SaaS businesses are managing with WHMCS the major one for us is resellers - there is no way of creating a client account and being able to mark a parent "reseller"

you might need to use a third-party addon, such as ModulesGarden's Reseller Center, to be able to create such relationships.

natively in WHMCS, there is limited affiliate functionality, but you can't assign affiliates to clients, only orders to affiliates... so that may be a cul-de-sac for your purposes.

Thanks that looks decent - I guess I just have to buy it to try - they don't seem to have a demo / trial anywhere

this link from their docs should help with that...

7-Day Free Access will allow you to use any WHMCS, Blesta or PrestaShop product for a week at zero cost so as to check whether its functionality and interface suit all your requirements.

Since all features are available under 7-Day Free Access, you are offered the opportunity to use a module in the exact way it would be used once bought, before you actually reach a purchase decision.

ideally, i'd suggest trying it on a WHMCS development installation rather than a live production installation where possible.
