Changed nothing, errors out

Due to the recent Cpanel removal of XML in server responses, my existing WHMCS isn't working right. Though I knew this was inevitable, various things (not the least of which is the hatred of the "moving target admin interface icon design") were keeping me from wanting to upgrade. I'm forced now. Visiting my dev installation, it's working good one second, and with me making *NO CHANGES*, on  access just now it stopped working with this (once I enabled errors):

How exciting, to know your installation will just fall totally over without even making changes.
So. How to troubleshoot that, and hopefully prevent it happening again?

is there any chance you've got an out of date admin widget file in /modules/widgets ?

Seems you'd need to have purchased the module from WHMCS to get that fix, since it's normally encoded?

As for widgets, no, but in looking at a new full download and the existing WHMCS dev directory, there's been files removed from the full download that still exist in the dev installation that's been using auto-update. Though I made no changes today to have it suddenly stop working, my guess is it's somehow related.

What are the odds the powers that be will now look. 😉
(oh look, stuff!)

I've found the issue. Apparently the homepage.tpl had an issue that broke it. Fun bit is, I hadn't edited. Just fell over hard all on it's own.
Compared to the download version and the only changes were within the widget tools. Go figure. Looks like I'll be swearing off auto updating once this goes live.
