GDPR and supportickets

Recommended Posts

Hey there folks

SO everyone excited about GDPR? :wall1: I done nothing else than research GDPR for the past 2 weeks, but I have some holes relating to WHMCS. Firstly I can't find anything in the marketplace or elsewhere which would make my client area cookie-compliant. We need to get explicit consent from the people browsing it, but can't figure out how we might achieve it. Does anyone here know of something that I can use?

Info portability - if people leave a support ticket, how are they enabled to edit their info and how are their questions etc portable? We need to enable our clients to transport their info elsewhere (portability) How can we achieve this with WHMCS?

Any help is much appreciated

thanks in advance

Linda

Take a look at http://help.whmcs.com/m/managing/l/866846-exporting-client-data this helps with the exporting of data.

We've also created a couple of blog posts that may assist you at https://blog.whmcs.com/133465/feature-spotlight-tools-to-help-you-with-gdpr https://blog.whmcs.com/133437/how-whmcs-can-help-with-gdpr-compliance

I'm unsure if there is an addon here, you might like to create a thread in the Service Requests and Offers board to see if someone can develop something for you or work with a developer to customise your theme

Hi,

Thank for all the info!

However, we still need an option to put in all contact / support tickets without login, a checkbox to allow recollect data and a basic info about business, because is a must in the GDPR.

King regards,

with regards to tickets, I would have thought a support custom field would be the easiest way...

https://docs.whmcs.com/Custom_Fields#Support_Custom_Fields

make it a tick box and add your basic info to its description...

contact might be a little trickier - not least because the resulting email is hard-coded... you could edit the contact.tpl template and add a checkbox, but you may need a hook if you need to store the value on submission.
