Force the user to put his tax identification number, ONLY if he is a member of the EU.

Hello,

in the process of registering a client, we need to force the user to put his tax identification number, only if he is a member of the EU.

For the rest of the countries outside the EU, we want this field not to be obligatory.

How can we do it?

Thanks!

You'd need to custom code that, maybe use custom fields. Check which country they are in. If the country is European, make the field mandatory - if it's non-european, make it optional.

@inteldigital - I suspect the OP already knows all of that, hence why he was asking how to do it... 9_9

drives me about as nuts as when WHMCS support staff just post links to a hook page and expect the OP to know what to do with it... insane.

the answer should likely be a ShoppingCartValidateCheckout hook, but will have a play when I get the chance - not today though as my head is totally fried!
