I'm an old techie who started out with systems such as Digital Vax Clusters , PRIME, Unix variants (Ultrix, Zenix etx), IBM Systems 38, IBM xt Workstations. That was all before Microsoft took off and the first INTEL x386 processor had just arrived. Backups were saved to tape or DAT, coding was punch cards and hard disks were the size of dustbin lids.
