Lucas
How do you use them? How do you put credits on a customer account?
tbenoit
From the client's record (Summary tab), click the "Manage Credits" link.
bear
As for using them, credits are automatically applied to the next invoice created until they are used. If the credit is higher than the invoice, it carries the extra over to the next one. I love this feature.
Chrisw
Indeed, it is a very good feature
othellotech
If the credit is higher than the invoice, it carries the extra over to the next one. I love this feature. And it only has one disadvantage - not allowing the client to determine if they want to use that credit against that invoice/product. So it cant be used as the correct equivalent of a credit-note, and when a client pre-pays for the renewals of 6 domains, and the system applies it as a payment against the next hosting payment and *doesnt* renew the domains they specifically asked you to before they went on holiday ...

In which case they should have given you enough money to cover their hosting payment too shouldn't they, especially if it's due before the domain renewals?
PPH
With this discussion, I have a question. If a customer has a credit, what happens with the invoices created for PayPal subscriptions that are active? Does it mark them paid? Hopefully a credit does not get applied to a subscription based invoice...
D9Hosting
I'm sure that I read somewhere that credits don't get applied to paypal subscription payments.
networkegypt
it doesn`t apply . Please note that credits only work with invoiced payment gateways (credit will not be applied if PayPal Subscriptions are used). You may manually alter the credits balance from the Clients Profile page.
tbenoit
PayPal Subscriptions are now invoiced (since v3.4). Will credit still not be applied? It really should be.
Iceman
I think this is now covered in the upcoming release of 3.5 http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?p=38634 (see "Account Pre-funding"). Cheers, Paul
