Users getting SSL error off of URL in email but direct URL access shows no error

Recommended Posts

I noticed something this evening. When the system sends out an invoice if a user clicks the link in it that shows them their invoice PDF first it is giving the Chrome Suspicious Link message:

Suspicious link

This link leads to an untrusted site. Are you sure you want to proceed to http://www.straightarrowhosting.net?

However, if I copy the link from the email and paste it directly into a browser window it opens fine with no warning. My SSL certificate is up to date and functioning fine.

I also have noticed that this error only seems to pop up when the user has not yet paid for the invoice. For example, if I pay the invoice then go back to the same email and click the link it opens fine with no SSL error. This makes me think somehow the paypal payment buttons at the top of the invoice are causing the error since they do not appear on the Paid versions of an invoice.

Do I need to do something to fix this? It's kind of a problem to have users being told my site is insecure when it isn't...

Hi,

Could you post the full details of the message you are encountering in your browser, particularly the technical details.

Usually this kind of browser warning is based upon your site's reputation with Google, rather than anything specific with the WHMCS software itself.
