January 2017 Community Wrapup

Welcome to the first edition of the WHMCS Community Wrapup for 2017. Each month we take a look at the WHMCS Community Forums sharing statistics and highlights.

 

Our community wrapup is consistently evolving and we welcome your feedback either by replying below or opening a thread in the Forum Assistance board.

 

January 2017 Community Statistics:

 

  • 308 new members joined our community
  • 403 new threads where created and our dedicated community crafted 1,617 replies.
  • The busiest day for the community was January 9th where 100 replies for added and 26 new threads created.

January's top picks:

 

  • Register Currency
    Nyan had a question about setting up currencies at the time of registration setting a client to using USD pricing instead of JPY there where some great responses around achieving this using hooks and customisations.
  • Blank pages after upgrading to WHMCS v7
    jpmaster had issues after upgrading to WHMCS version 7 and was getting blank pages, in this instance it turned out that the wrong version of ionCube Loaders was on their server.
  • gMail and GoogleMail Questions
    Gazza had a client that has both a gmail and GoogleMail address, the email where linked however when sending from the googlemail.com address these where being blocked. Gazza's issue was solved by adding a Sub-Contact.
  • What's the best way to move my WHMCS System to a new subfolder?
    Masterolive enquired about the best way to migrate their WHMCS installation over to a new subdirectory, users provide guidance on moving, updating paths and re-issuing the license
  • Has anyone else received payments from a non-existent domain via paypal
    There was a general discussion from durangod around receiving PayPal payments from a non existant domain

      Well, just like that another month is done and dusted! With that in mind, it's time to take a look back at WHMCS.Community during April 2019, highlighting some of the most popular content during the month, asking for your feedback and giving a sneak peek of whats ahead for the community.  Feel free to reply to the thread with any questions you have!

      393 new members joined WHMCS.Community 343 new topics where created 1,462 replies were crafted by WHMCS.Community Members WHMCS.Community Leaderboard
      GearHead @brian! leads the board with 52 points. @Kian is in second place with 8 points, rounding out the board in 3rd place with 7 points is @steven99 please continue to the keep the great content coming.  We continue to progress our integration of Reactions into the community Ranking Structure and you'll start to see this gradually roll out over the next little while.

      338 new members joined WHMCS.Community 413 new topics where created 1,646 replies were crafted by WHMCS.Community Members WHMCS.Community Leaderboard
      Taking our first place on our community with a whopping 56 points in our community GearHead @brian! joining him on the board is @Shivansh with 33 points and @steven99 coming in third with 31 points.  Thank you to everyone that contributed quality content to the community in March.
      Our leaderboard is an important part of WHMCS.Community we use it to highlight the top contributors of our community, promoting quality content that helps all WHMCS Users. Over the next few months, reactions, the leaderboard, your posts and replies will begin to have more of an impact on your rank in WHMCS.Community as we begin to identify and roll out a new ranking structure on the community.

      Version 7.7 saw the introduction of new features and functionality designed to provide more control over the store of file assets.  This blog discusses the new AWS S3 Storage feature in WHMCS 7.7. Check it out here!

      In case you missed it WHMCS v7.7 was released in January 21st with a range of new features such as Bitpay, GoCardless, S3 Storage Support & More theres something in WHMCS v7.7 for everyone

      Getting the Update
      You can update to the latest version of WHMCS using the Automatic Updater. Simply navigate to Utilities > Update WHMCS to begin the update process. 
      As always, a download is also being made available for those who wish to install or upgrade manually. You can download WHMCS 7.7 from our downloads page. 
      And if you have any questions about 7.7 make sure you check our the V7.7 Dedicated Release Board.

      It's been a while since we last reminded people about the ways to contact the Moderation team when you need assistance such as changing your username, finding the right place to post or just asking a general community-related question.  The place to do that is the WHMCS.Community Assistance board this ensures that any one of the Community Team members can assist you as quickly as possible.
