  10. Welcome to the first edition of the WHMCS Community Wrapup for 2017. Each month we take a look at the WHMCS Community Forums sharing statistics and highlights. Our community wrapup is consistently evolving and we welcome your feedback either by replying below or opening a thread in the Forum Assistance board. January 2017 Community Statistics: 308 new members joined our community 403 new threads where created and our dedicated community crafted 1,617 replies. The busiest day for the community was January 9th where 100 replies for added and 26 new threads created. January's top picks: Register Currency Nyan had a question about setting up currencies at the time of registration setting a client to using USD pricing instead of JPY there where some great responses around achieving this using hooks and customisations. Blank pages after upgrading to WHMCS v7 jpmaster had issues after upgrading to WHMCS version 7 and was getting blank pages, in this instance it turned out that the wrong version of ionCube Loaders was on their server. gMail and GoogleMail Questions Gazza had a client that has both a gmail and GoogleMail address, the email where linked however when sending from the googlemail.com address these where being blocked. Gazza's issue was solved by adding a Sub-Contact. What's the best way to move my WHMCS System to a new subfolder? A little later than normal this month, the wrapup is a monthly post we'll do to help highlight some of the things happening on the community forums during the month. The wrap-up is a work in progress and we welcome your feedback either in a reply below or you can open a private thread in the Forum Assistance category Taking a quick look at the stats for the month: During October we saw 257 new members joining the WHMCS Community Forums. We had 354 new threads created during the month and 1,509 posts across the community making October the busiest month on the community for 2016. October 4th was the busiest day on the community with 132 users logging in. Our top forum picks this month: Disable Feature Highlights Tengri wanted to know how to remove the Features Highlights on the cart template for the Premium Comparison template, a number of users assisted Tengri to use the right codes to get this removed Allow Smarty PHP tags not Recommended Web2008 wanted to know a way to use include('./file.php'); in Smarty, a number of users had a discussion about the best way to use these such as ActionHooks or re-writing the tpl file CRON e-mails every 5-minutes In WHMCS v7, we introduced a brand new Cron Job, part of this introduced some new outputs, theres been some robust discussions around the output! It's something we've taken onboard and changed in V7.1 Cron not working after update A few users were having some issues with ionCube Loaders & their cron post upgrade, this is a great post that helps with troubleshooting in v7. Cron Job: Check for Updates Failed Wolfhound was receiving a message regarding the Automatic Updater in WHMCS version 7, this thread provided some tips and tricks for resolving this issue. cPanel Module Specified Package Does not Exist We have become aware of a functional issue in the 7.0.1 release published on Friday October 14th 2016, which affects the cPanel Change Package function in certain circumstances. When a reseller level WHM user is configured on the server details page in WHMCS, a "Specified package does not exist" error is returned when performing the Change Package module command (eg. upgrading or downgrading). Users accessing the server as the root user are not affected. The Fix for this can be found in this Forum Thread Version 7 is here! The biggest event in October was the Launch of WHMCS V7 including the Automatic Updater, Spotlight TLDs and Support for PHP 7 just to name a few. We had 274 new threads created during the month and 911 posts across the community overall our posts where down September 19 was the busiest day on the community with 101 users logging in New community forum rules: On September 6th we introduced a new set of community forum guidelines & rules if you haven't yet reviewed these please take some time to do so from October 1st we've begun enforcing these in full. Our top forum picks this month: Introducing our newest Gearhead Sentq During September we were excited to introduce sentq as our latest Gearhead. A GearHead is a member of the community forums who is a champion of the WHMCS software. Upgrade 6.0.0 arjanvr wanted to upgrade to WHMCS version 6 and needed some advice on upgrading to the latest version. A number of community members assisted with giving arjanvr the right direction. How to send users an email to confirm a password change? Paperweight wanted to know if it was possible to send the password reset email when clients submit a reset request via the Client Area. A couple of users provided suggestions along with a hook Level 2 Member??? An eagle eyed member noticed that we've quietly added a "Level 2 Member" rank it's part of our new ranking structure which we'll be launching in the coming months. Stay tuned for details How to hide whmcs menu and sidebar form guest ecayer was experiancing issues hiding the WHMCS Menu and Sidebar brian! provided assistance in getting these working correctly. A note about our advertising forums: We'd like to remind all users that post in the advertising forums of rule 3.3 During the past month there have been a few users posting more than one advertisement it's really important that we keep to one per week to make it fair for everyone. The wrap-up is a work in progress and we welcome your feedback either in a reply below or you can open a private thread in the Forum Assistance category Taking a quick look at the stats for the month: During August we saw 368 new members joining the WHMCS Community Forums which saw us clock over 65,000 registered members! We had 302 new threads created during the month and 1,328 posts across the community making August the busiest posting month of 2016 August 3rd and August 9th where the busiest days in the community with 165 users logging in Every month we'll hand pick a few posts to highlight in our monthly wrap up: Forum: Preview Release Discussion Many of our users will be aware that WHMCS v7 is currently in beta, we're all pretty excited by the feedback we're getting from the community if you've not had a chance to take a look at the V7 beta head on over to the forum and take a look Upgrade 6.0.0 Arjanvr asks how to upgrade to the most recent release (6.3.1) and the community helps by providing help and guidance along with a few tips and tricks when the dreaded White Screen appeared during the upgrade. Action hook to send values to external page Frankc needed some assistance on showing certain data on an external page using hooks there the community had a few handy ideas for achieving the desired result which Frankc achieved with a bit of a workaround New TLD No Pricing Boxes Visiable 3awh was experiencing issues with the pricing boxes not appearing on his installation when editing the domain pricing. The discussion touch on a number of possible issues this could have been including the solution which was mySQL Strict Mode being enabled. Currency Selector on header.tpl Thembi discusses how he would like the ability to display currencies in the selector when a user is logged in or out. There is a great discussion full of ideas of ways to achieve this. That wraps up our community overview for August albeit a work in progress!
