How does the affiliate system work?

 

I was checking the demo. no answer found.

 

I want whmcs to only give customer a commission on the first payment of the paying customer.

 

I do not want monthly commission to be paid to the affiliate.

 

i mean

Payment 1 = $100
Given commission 10% = 10dollar
Payment 2 for 2nd month = $100
commission = $0

 

is it working like this?

You have a choice. In the product management where you set up the affiliate settings, you can make it fixed or percentage, and if it's a one time payout or not.

 

You'd look in:

Manage product and services -> edit product (for existing one) -> affiliates tab.

Also with the new release of 3.4.1 you can setup a payout delay, so you can require a referral be a client for X number of days before payout - also handy so you don't have folks getting friends to sign-up only to cancel later.

Where is that set? I'm not currently using affiliates, so I haven't run into it.

Never mind, it's under general configuration settings->affiliates.
