splaquet
I looked through the forums, but couldn't find an answer to this anywhere. I created a promo code that sets a specific price on a domain purchase, with the intentions of the code covering the added fees imposed by adding all 3 domain addons (DNS Management, Email Forwarding & ID Protection.) I only really used it to add free privacy to clients, but it works. My problem is that this works great when I use it internally/admin, but I can't seem to find a way to enforce that the code is only valid if those items are checked off. I've found that if I give that code to anyone else, they usually fail to check off privacy and still receive the discount. I was thinking that maybe there was a feature that would only allow the promo code to be used if $X dollars were spent, but I couldn't find a way to set that number either. I thought about making it a percentage, but that still doesn't add up correctly with the price of the base .com compared to the .com w/ features. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? It seems like a rather simple feature that I'm rather surprised that isn't included in the box, but I have to assume that I'm just overlooking something somewhere.
twhiting9275
WHMCS promotions don't cover addons , at this time, unfortunately. They're designed for the product / service itself. I'd suggest checking hooks, but I don't see anything in there for promotion validation, so, not really sure that would be of much help either
brian!
I think the only way it could be done, using built-in features of WHMCS, is rather long-winded, doesn't necessarily use any promotion code (it could) and is, therefore, slightly kinky! you could create a dummy hosting product which requires a domain name, price it as free and hide it. then create a Product Bundle which contains only this dummy hosting product - during the bundle configuration, you can tick the 3 domain addon checkboxes and enable a price override setting. when ordering the bundle, if the 3 addons are enabled, the customer will be charged the override price, in this case $1,000.00 (you may want to charge less!)... if they don't enable all 3 addons, they'll be charged at the normal domain registration price. if you wanted to do it the other way and have them charged at a special price if no addons are added, then you can just untick the checkboxes in the setup and the reverse of above will occur. if you enable the feature in the bundle setup, you also have the option of using promotion codes with (or instead of) the price override feature. as I said, it's a rather weird way to do it (you can't have domain-only product bundles), but I can't think of an alternative...
