stormy
I have a large WHMCS install which is getting a bit slow, and I'm considering switching from MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB. Is it fully supported and working fine with WHMCS? Does it make a difference in speed? Can you share some experiences?
sentq
it works with WHMCS, and it has increase in the performance, there is few WHMCS installations using it for 1-2 years now
twhiting9275
Mariadb is simply a drop in replacement for MySQL, so it will work with anything requiring MySQL. As sentq mentioned, it will absolutely work with WHMCS As far as performance, this is going t depend on your tuning, configuration, and hardware. Most importantly is going to be that hardware. Personally? I've noticed a bit of a speed increase in performance on larger sites, but nothing major.
Guest
Works as a charm for us for the last 6 months or so.
stormy
I upgraded, although it didn't solve the problem with ticket replies taking a long time to submit. I have more than 25,000 closed tickets that I will have to prune.
twhiting9275
Sounds like you need to make some configuration changes then, to Maria, not WHMCS. Work with a db admin, or systems admin. They should be able to help you tune this. Try to use more ram, less disk, and caching. This should help you a bit
stormy
It's absolutely tuned, although once MariaDB has been running for at least 24h, we can run the tuner again. The server has plenty of RAM and CPU, as well as SSD RAID disks.
stormy
MariaDB has been working fine, no problems at all. I've opened a new thread about WHMCS getting slower as the number of tickets increases: https://forums.whmcs.com/showthread.php?119250-WHMCS-keeps-getting-slower-as-the-number-of-tickets-increases
