livechat template files

Nullified

Recommended Posts

I have purchased the WHMCS LiveChat addon and am having trouble locating the template files for the LiveHelpEmbedded div that contains the chat popup on every whmcs page. I have found the template files for modules/livehelp/, but they don't appear to by the same tpls that are used with the javascript appended popup box.

we don't use it, so don't have access to the files - but two thoughts occur to me...

1. have you tried to locate the appropriate file using Firefox Firebug (or similar tool for your browser)?

2. it's possible, but probably unlikely in this case, that it's in an encrypted file - though it has been known for WHMCS to do this...

i'd be surprised if you couldn't locate it via method 1, but if you can't, it might be worth opening a ticket with support - I did have a quick look at your site, but lc was offline.

Well the browser's inspector features don't show backend files such as the tpl files. It just tells you want css documents have the styling.

yes - and once you know the style being used, you can search for it in the .tpl files and see where it occurs... if not using the OS, then there are many free tools that can search file contents. :)

I have already searched known tpl locations and there appears to be no reference to any of the code used in that display. I can't search the tpl files if I do not know where they are located or if they are named something retarded that wouldn't make me think to look in that one.

as an assumption, they logically must be in the download you got from WHMCS when you bought the addon - but difficult to check without seeing the files... you could try a wildcard search.

I did take a quick look at your site this morning, and it's possible that a lot of these changes can be made via the livehelp .js and .css files in addition to the .tpl templates... I could modify areas of your chat by playing with them, and you could probably change icon by manipulating the sprite image.

I assume the livechat templates are @ /modules/livehelp/templates/default/ - certainly index.tpl seems to control the opening question box...

if you can't figure it out, it might be worth a visit the chatstack site (they wrote the main code) and there is info on their site for customising the chat window layout.
