theviewer1985
Hey Guys OK so I have hosting and domains setup and functioning fine. But one of my products always feels like I have to "hack" the system to make it function properly and wondered if Im missing something because Im sure this product isn't TOO unique. So id like to offer a website bundle... basically give the customer a website (which id design and place on the hosting space manually), domain name and hosting space for a monthly fee. As it stands, I have the product act like a normal hosting plan except it has a different email template that doesn't reveal all the details that these types of clients would need to know. It just sets them up hosting space, links a free domain to it and I then create a website and upload it. The first problem arises when someone transferred a domain which made their expiry date and the product due date have different dates which meant the domain wasn't free... unless I manually change the domain date to match up correctly. A bit wonky.. but I can cope with this on its own. The client also gets renewal reminders about their domain name, which I want to be inclusive of the product, so Id rather them not get reminded about a domain name. BUT I CANT STOP DOMAIN REMINDERS BECAUSE OF MY NORMAL HOSTING / DOMAIN PRODUCTS Ive now got another problem which i cant put into words. But its basically that a client wants both a .com and .co.uk - how do I link BOTH to the one product so both remian free aslong as the client pays that month, and if he doesnt pay, both domains get canceled together Anyway... all of these problems are making me wonder whether my product is wrong to begin with. I researched "product bundles" but I don't think that is what I want. I also thought maybe I should just create a product that isn't tied to a server, or domain registrar, and just do things manually for anyone that wants the bundle. But then of course IM hit with the same problem of their domains being seperate products. Oh god I'm finding this so hard to put into words. Simply put, I just want a way to bundle anything I want into one little package and they all renew/cancel/terminate together. Hopefully someone can figure out what the hell I'm talking about and give me some pointers Thanks
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted May 12, 2015 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted May 12, 2015 Hi, You also cannot stop the domain renewal reminder emails as they are required per ICANN regulation. You can potentially be fined not for sending domain renewal reminder emails before and after a domains expiration. Provided that both payment method and Next Due Date of all the domains and services match exactly, they will always invoice together for renewal. However there isn't an option in WHMCS as standard to auto-cancel multiple domains when a service is cancelled I'm afraid.
