Owner Owned Domain Names (How to Manage Expense)

Ok as owner of WHMCS and owner of many domain names, how do you guys manage:

 

1. Billing aspects of your own domain names you own and purchase and track under your account in WHMCS?

 

2. Do you zero out the the domain name costs so it doesn't affect your Income reports?

 

What are the best practices for hosting companies give examples?

We set the hosting to free but the domain cost to $0.50 per year. This is only so we get the option of not renewing a domain.

Right now I have several invoice for my domain names but really don't want to show them as paid because they will show income which really isn't??

we haven't added our own domains to WHMCS (for a number or reasons) - but tweaking Doug's answer, it might be an option to assign yourself to a Client Group and give yourself a 100% discount... that would avoid your invoices contributing towards your income reports as they would be zero.

THanks guys., not sure why I didn't think of this before as am using several clients groups providing discounts already.
