[confirmed] Refund Transaction does-not reduce amount from credits

I am facing a strange issue. Client pays invoice twice. 2nd payment get added as "Credit" in clients account. We refund his 2nd payment via WHMCS+2CO. The refunded amount does not get reduced from "Credit" of the client.

Seem to be the same for all gateways. Seem we lost over $500! due to erroneous credit used by clients to pay for invoices!

mlew2 - I'm not sure how that will help. We sell dedicated server and trust WHMCS to ensure payments from customer and suspend services unpaid, similarly we expect WHMCS to maintain credits correctly and collect payments or else the primary function of client management become completely faulty.

This issue has been reported previously in case #2945. A fix for this has been merged into the branch that will be our next major release (WHMCS 6.0).

 

Additionally case 5215 was reported later to track the admin double clicking on add-payment which is one of the most frequent ways that this double payment happens.
