Invalid security token upon clicking "login to control panel"

Hi John,

Sorry, by "domains control panel" I mean cPanel.

I would assume that when clicking "login to control panel" that it would log in automatically but it asks for a username/password and even when I type that in I get the "HTTP error 401" page. I've attached a screenshot of this.

The URL of this error page is: https://223.130.25.10:2087/xfercpanel/safettra

Where that IP is my server IP and "safettra" is the cPanel username.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi,

Are you referring to the link on the client's Products/services tab?

If so, it's correct you're prompted to enter your WHM Login details. You will then be logged into the client's cPanel with admin privileges.

Regarding the token error, that sounds like a cPanel security setting somewhere. Their support would be better placed to advise.

Team,

Why is it set up this way? If we can log in as the client then log into the control panel, why have the extra steps? Clearly we can create a unique session and log in directly from the product/service area in the WHMCS panels if we have the credentials.

Shoot. We could go to the domain of that account and just drop in the credentials and it'd still be simpler than giving out root access to all employees that need to get into those accounts.

What gives?

Thanks Team,

Aaron

Hi,

You wouldn't need to give any extra permission to your staff beyond the reseller level access they presumably already have to login to WHM.

It's like this because when the module was first developed that was the only way it could be achieved. However in v6.0 we have a brand new loginshare system which means that staff can login to WHM from WHMCS without needing to remember their WHM login credentials; stay tuned to http://blog.whmcs.com for more information.
