[confirmed] [Case #4849] [5.3.8] Empty IP Address on Admin Summary widgets

Hello,

 

we’ve noticed that WHMCS 5.3.8 no longer logs the Admin and Client IP Address? The IP Adress is empty on both widgets (Recent Admin Activity and Recent Client Activity).

 

I didn't find more information in the Release notes. Is it a new privacy feature? Is it a bug?

the IP addresses seem to be showing fine for me on the widgets and logs - I updated using the incremental patch.

maybe one of your files hasn't uploaded correctly and reuploading might be the solution?

This is being caused by EOL versions of PHP and the change in how filter_flag_ipv6 changed in versions newer than PHP 5.3.6. Updating PHP would resolve this.

Sounds like you're saying any PHP version above 5.3.6 should be okay?

That is correct, this problem happens with php builtin function behaves in specific cases when php is below php 5.3.6. If you are running php 5.3 already, then we recommend running a more recent php 5.3 (its currently on 5.3.28 ) then 5.3.6 which was released March of 2011.
