imaticon
Hi all, I figured out that the hookpoint InvoiceCreationPreEmail has stopped working in v5.3.7 http://docs.whmcs.com/Hooks:Invoicing#InvoiceCreationPreEmail WHMCS has finally today opened a case #4580. As per the statement from a WHMCS Technical Analyst, this is not considered critical and a hotfix is unlikely. In first instance, we completely disappoint with this statement and consider the hookpoint as extremely critical since it is used for the billing system which allows us to modify invoices (special taxes, amount, total calcs, etc.). Now we have to modify manually each issued invoice to spanish users and make refunds and / or additional charges. This is not only annoying but simply not a feasible task Are there third party developers or WHMCS users who use this hookpoint? How would you rate this issue? Critical or simply not important for a Billing System? Thanks in advance to all for a feedback. Hopefully WHMCS will consider to release as soon as possible a hotfix. Regards, Marco
Troy
I'm not sure what WHMCS actually does consider critical. I'd be pretty upset about this if I relied on their API to perform critical business tax calculations, for sure. I've reported bugs that I considered critical myself that didn't get fixed for ages, so I know how you feel. Anything invoice/payment related should be critical no matter what, and missing a non-functional API call in a new release is shameful. Being unwilling to fix it quickly is worse.

jclarke
I would say this is critical and WHMCS should provide you a fix. It shouldn't take them much work to provide you a hotfix.
genious
I confirm the OP's report, and like he said, this is a very critical hook point and a hotfix must come asap.
visiba
Go to "General Settings" > "Mail". Set the "Mail Encoding" to 8 bit and save. Even if it was already 8 bit, do a save and check the emails again.
stormy
From what I have read, without that hook fully operative, I think my company simply can't function legally here in Spain. I would be exposed to incredibly steep fines. I'm really glad I'm still with 5.2.X, but that doesn't make this bug less scary.
