Accepting Bitcoin (UK based seller)

Hello all,

We've installed successfully the Coinbase (Bitcoin) module for our WHMCS billing platform. We are based in the UK- and we want to offer our customers the ability to pay with Bitcoin, and we then want to immediately convert/cashout these orders to our PayPal account.

We're now stuck with API integration etc- we haven't configured the module as yet, only uploaded the files via FTP.

Can anybody offer any guidance to proceed beyond the step we already found ourselves in?

Can we achieve what we are trying to do via Coinbase or do we need to go to an alternate provider?

Many thanks,

XRumerGeek

I too downloaded that Coinbase Bitcoin module yesterday and have spent the past 24+ hours trying to get it to work. it just never seems to redirect to the coinbase site for the user to enter his payment details...

Here are some of the problems I have with it:

1) On the Payment Gateways page to setup the module, I entered a secret for the "Coinbase Callback Secret". However, I can find no place on the coinbase.com site where I need to also add this. Is this necessary to add to coinbase.com, or is it not needed?

2) The payment buttons for the coinbase do not appear. For example, when a use has an invoice, in the top right corner of the invoice it is a missing image location.

I saw on github that a new crt was added about 20 days ago, so I added that, but nothing seems oto work to get it to operate correctly. Any ideas?

Ok I did some more digging. Here is the iframe code for the coinbase image:

<head><title>Error</title><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width">
</head><body><h1>Error</h1>
<h2>https://coinbase.com/buttons/?code=&buttonStyle=&buttonText=Pay+with+Bitcoin&custom=&referrer=base.kovurt.com</h2>
<p>The website does not permit its content to be displayed in a frame. It must be displayed in a separate window.
<p><ul><li><a class="link" href="opera:proceed" title='https://coinbase.com/buttons/?code=&buttonStyle=&buttonText=Pay+with+Bitcoin&custom=&referrer=MYDOMAINNAME.COM>Load document in a new window</a></li></ul></body></html>

It seems maybe the module is calling the image in an iframe? Is that WHMCS's fault or the module?

Based on my non-trivial amount of knowledge w/ WHMCS payment gateways, but without seeing the code you're referencing, I'd have to say it's almost certainly the fault of the module not providing the correct output in the modulename_link() function. It almost certainly is not a fault of the WHMCS.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I should say "responsibility" rather than "fault". My meaning is are those always placed as iframes form the WHMCS side or from the module.

I will hopefully wait for the HostVPN module creator to reply. The feedback thread on the WHMCS module page works with the Facebook API and we do not use Facebook, so we are always locked out from commenting and getting feedback on those pages. I wish WHMCS could either use a native commenting system or something other than a Facebook API that scans user data ;)

BIPS installed very easily. I like how easy it was to register on their site, connect a merchant account, and then to install this on WHMCS. I personally use Coinbase but their module seems broken, so my users are now using BIPS :)

I did not check bitpay yet. My understanding is a Bitcoin user can use any gateway, so one is enough. Is that accurate and correct, or am I wrong?
