Password Reset Email for (Client Area)

Are you talking about the "Forgotten Your Password? Request a Password Reset" function? I just tested it on my 5.2.10 installation, and I received the password reset email just fine. It prompted me with the security question, I had set on my account, before sending the reset email.

I am unable to reproduce any issue with the password reset process here. As others have suggested, there was a change quite some time ago to where instead of sending a new randomly generated password via email, users are now asked to enter their desired new password on site so that it is not ever transmitted in plain text over email. So if you're having issues I would recommend checking that your custom templates are all up to date, particularly the pwreset.tpl and pwresetvalidation.tpl ones.
