Hi,

Are there any plans to introduce surcharging on credit card transactions? - Sagepay now supports this.

Email from Sagepay:

Reduce your costs with surcharging

Although already available for payments using My Sage Pay, upgrading to the latest version of Sage Pay (Protocol 3.0) will allow you to pass on the cost of a transaction to your customers who pay online.

Commonly known as 'surcharging' you'll reduce the price of accepting a credit or debit cards resulting in lower costs for your business.

How surcharging works with Sage Pay

In My Sage Pay you'll be able to add a surcharge based on payment type and currency. An additional amount is automatically calculated and displayed each time you accept a payment.

You have the option of adding a fixed value or percentage dependent on payment type and currency. We recommend a fixed value for debit card payments and percentage for credit cards.

Laws around surcharging

The government recently introduced regulations to ensure businesses were only surcharging to cover the cost of accepting credit and debit cards.

To ensure you adhere to the new laws, you can read more about the regulations on the Sage Pay blog
