bear
Just wanted to show a little love here for the recent security update release. We were notified quickly and clearly, the instructions were easy to follow and the fact it increments the installation now allows us to know we're updated at a glance just by minor version numbering in the interface. Thanks guys, this was well done.
getup
Although some seem to have issues with domain registrations after the release. Not everyone will be as pleased with it as you are.

JulesR
Takes a forum moderator to post positive feedback these days Another poorly produced and failed update by WHMCS. Becoming a bit of a habit now.
WHMCS Chris
Only a handful of downloads were affected by the domain registration issue. The patches available online & the full version from the members downloads have been updated. You can reapply the ones available, or submit a ticket for the specific file. The patches available online & the full version from the members downloads have been updated. You can reapply the ones available, or submit a ticket for the specific file. Is this a joke? WHMCS doesn't supply releases to those of us who get WHMCS from our resellers, so I can't simply download the patch directly from you. How do I know if my reseller gave me the old version or the new version? I can ask them, but I need to know at what time you made the upgrade. WHMCS Chris
Hello, Roughly one hour after. You can contact WHMCS or download the patch from the blog directly.
f9dc
Since I jumped from 5.2.3 to 5.2.5, can I use the patch to update to the new 5.2.5? The documentation says that the full install needs to be used for upgrading from most older versions to the current version, and lists the versions that can be used with the patch, but it isn't clear on the procedure to upgrade from one version to a different version of the same version. In the future, please increment your versions when you release an update. Better yet, please do a complete release test before releasing an update. WHMCS Chris
Hello, You would need to go from 5.2.4 > 5.2.5. Or use the full update from the WHMCS Client area of 5.2.5 to get to the latest version.
f9dc
Hello, You would need to go from 5.2.4 > 5.2.5. Or use the full update from the WHMCS Client area of 5.2.5 to get to the latest version. I'm actually going from 5.2.5 > 5.2.5. Are you saying I should use the 5.2.5 incremental release?
WHMCS Chris
Hello, Well, your replies are a bit confusing. You stated you jumped from 5.2.3, to 5.2.5 - but didn't indicate exactly how. If you applied JUST the patch available on the blog/via email, that's not sufficient as you'd have missed 5.2.4. In which case, you should download the full version from the WHMCS client area and apply that.
f9dc
Well, your replies are a bit confusion. Having multiple versions of the same version is what's confusing, but let me try to clarify my post: There is no patch to go from 5.2.3 to 5.2.5, so I did a "full install" upgrade. I downloaded the full install package and applied it as per the upgrade instructions at http://docs.whmcs.com/Version_5.2_Release_Notes#Upgrade_Steps, resulting in version 5.2.5. Then I learned that you released a new 5.2.5 to replace the old 5.2.5 without updating the version number. This puts me (and anyone else who downloaded the old 5.2.5 instead of the new 5.2.5) in the somewhat comical position of having to update from 5.2.5 to 5.2.5. Your instructions do not specify which upgrade process to use when upgrading to the same version. So to upgrade from 5.2.5 to 5.2.5, will the patch from 5.2.4 be sufficient? Also, please stop releasing multiple versions of the same version.

And then there was one les
As the incremental was broken 5.2.4 > 5.2.5 you have already updated to 5.2.5 however the new release which is just two files can be copied over. This isnt an update to 5.2.5 in this case, it is a patch of the patch. Confusing i know. but all the same, if you got the early 5.2.5 patch then just download it again and repatch.
