Disappointed with support given after upgrading

I have been paying a monthly fee since 2009 so I can use your support when problems arise. In that time I have had a total of 26 tickets to which not all are support related so I have not been a drain on your support team. I have found WHMCS is be a real asset to my hosting business.

I recently upgraded WHMCS because I was told the older version did not support Plesk 10.

Since upgrading WHMCS, I have a few problems and I would like to get them fixed promptly. I have provided detailed tickets with all the log on details to WHMCS and Plesk. I do not appreciate receiving replies asking questions when the information has already need provided in the original ticket.

I am assuming this newest version still does not support Plesk 10, otherwise these problems should easily be fixed.

All I can say to Matt is that your business will not prosper in a positive way if you continue to provide this level of inadequate support.

Hello,

I'm sorry that you had a poor experience. Did you inform the support staff to review the original ticket for all relevant information? Not every ticket necessitates reviewing each ticket before it, so it's rare that they're reviewed unless prompted.

What is your ticket #?

Regards,

My error, it is Plesk 11.

My two tickets are now into two days since no response. Because the automation process stopped with Plesk 11, support told me to upgrade to fix these issues. I paid for a professional upgrade to ensure all would be working correctly.

It is not that I expect your support to do everything for me, as I always try to fix myself first before seeing help. I have exhausted all avenues trying to fix and now expect to receive support.

I have even asked my server techs if it is possible to downgrade Plesk which they state is not possible. My only other option is to change from Plesk to CPanel after 14 years using Plesk. This means also having to spend long hours re-authoring all our support pages for our customers so they can learn the new control panel. This would be a massive task.

If we offered the same level support that WHMCS is currently offering to us, we would not be in business.

Tickets: #433008 #913405

Well I can certainly guarantee you that cPanel support is top noch! They are a great bunch and actually love to help.

As you are actively considering a move from Plesk to cPanel I suggest you take a look here:

http://cpanel.net/cpanel-whm/migrate-cpanel/

Their migration team will evaluate, plan, test and migrate you over from Plesk to cPanel if you are unable to do so yourself.

Fantastic it may be, but it's not an available option when you run a cross platform hosting business and want the same panel throughout. Since cPanel ran away from the challenge of developing a Windows hosting panel that leaves Plesk as the only game in town, and WHMCS support for Plesk (which is what this thread is about, not a cPanel cheerleading session) is dismal.

Ah windows hosting.

If you want the same panel you can go with cPanel for Linux hosting and then http://enkompass.cpanel.net/ for Windows hosting. You can get the first year free ^^ (Unsure of the charge after the first year).

I don't think its cPanels nature to offer a product they are not supporting / developing, could you backup the whole cPanel running away from building the windows platform?

Edit: Of course you can always go with 2 separate platforms and skin one of them to match the other? Might take a bit of work but should be possible if the system is flexible enough? I mean check out AtomicVPS cPanel theme: http://www.atomicvps.com/images/cpanel-theme.png - I wouldn't have thought it was cPanel if he didn't mention it in the post.

Cool idea, run your business with abandonware... Enkompass was at best barely production ready, but since development stopped more than a year ago, it doesn't support modern OS, current database servers, new browsers and it's only getting worse. A big waste of time for those who spent years evaluating and preparing for it, too. So like I said, Plesk is the only game in town for cross platform support and WHMCS badly need to step it up with Plesk integration or Parallels are going to eat their lunch.

Well we don't use Enkompass so I wasn't aware they stopped development on it over a year ago, quite surprised actually. It doesn't look like the upcoming 5.2 release contains many changes for Plesk (http://www.whmcs.com/changelog/5-2/), if you need better integration maybe it would be worth visiting Modulesgarden or another module developer to build something that fits your needs more?

My problem with Parallels as a company is they they are the hosting equivalent of locusts, they chew up smaller companies like Modernbill, Helm etc and then let the customers on those platforms die a slow lingering death. This is the main reason why I would never buy another Parallels product.

There are Windows control panel out there such as http://www.websitepanel.net/ that do the job 10 times better than Plesk ever could.

And breathe... :)
