prototype
Hey guys, I have WHMCS setup, and almost everything appears to be working almost perfectly now. However I tried to transfer a domain I own over to my hosting and to renew it for a year, My domain reseller is resell.biz (stargate), the payment was accepted and a cpanel account was automatically created, however the domain is still stuck on pending. In WHMCS when I click on the domain that failed to transfer over it says "Registrar Error Website doesn't exist for learnenglishtasmania.com". As far as I can tell I have all the settings right in WHMCS. I have contacted resell.biz however they said "It appears your domain name learnenglishtasmania.com was successfully transferred into your Resell.biz account. If you have any other questions regarding WHMCS in the future please refer to the WHMCS forums here: http://forum.whmcs.com/forum.php" despite the fact the domain is still stuck on pending in WHMCS and if I do a domain whois search the domain has not been renewed. I have noticed other people have had the same problems with resell.biz and whmcs but no solutions, has anyone got any ideas what the issue may be? cheers
prototype
I have had further contact from resell.biz, It turns out that the problem is due to the domain I am trying to transfer is currently hosted by another resell.biz re-seller. "It is possible to move domain names between customer accounts at Resell.biz, however, the "move services" option must be used instead of the transfer. Also, unlike a transfer the "move" must be initiated at the current location. In other words, domain "moves" are pushed, whereas domain transfers are pulled." So in other words it appears that the other re-seller has to first move the domain over to me, and then clients can renew their registration with me. This concerns me though, as if anyone tries to transfer their domain over to me and their current host is a resell.biz re-seller whmcs will throw up this error in my console, and accept payment, then the client will get frustrated as to why extra steps are required. Has anyone else had experience with this, or does anyone have any ideas how this could be automated? Do other domain registars have the same process? Am i best to dump resell.biz and switch to someone else? do either Enom or reseller club have the same process?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted February 8, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted February 8, 2013 Hi, You'll find the same with all companies using the LogicBoxes platform (inc. ResellerClub, Resell.biz and NetEarthOne). The LogicBoxes API doesn't offer a way to automate this I'm afraid
othellotech
This concerns me though, as if anyone tries to transfer their domain over to me and their current host is a resell.biz re-seller whmcs will throw up this error in my console, and accept payment, then the client will get frustrated as to why extra steps are required It's unfortunately part of the "price" you have to pay for selecting that registrar - it affects all the directi/resellerclub/logicbox software users. If you're happy with the other features and facilities and pricing, then you just have to live-with-it as a limitation.
prototype
Thanks guys, What registrars don't have that limitation? Also has anyone found of dealing with these situations? IE is it possible for WHMCS to throw up a message or error to the client trying to do the transfer? rather than just telling them the order has gone though, accepting payment when in actual fact the order hasn't gone though. I'm just thinking of avoiding a situation with someone who is wishing to transfer /renew a domain which is about to expire?
othellotech
What registrars don't have that limitation? Ours doesn't have that restriction
